Precautions for the Safe Use of Cranes

1. Crane operation must pass the training examination and hold a special equipment operation certificate before it can be operated;

2. Before driving, check the mechanical equipment carefully, inject oil strictly in accordance with the lubrication regulations, and keep the amount of oil appropriate;

3. Check whether the Electrical Parts and protective safety devices are intact and reliable.

4. If the main accessories such as the controller, brake, limiter, electric bell, emergency switch, etc. fail, it is strictly forbidden to lift it;

5. The driver must strictly abide by the company and workshop management systems. The operation can be performed after confirming the command signal, and the bell should be sounded before driving. However, anyone who issues an emergency stop signal should stop;

6. When the hook is placed in the lowest position, there should be at least two turns of the wire rope on the drum. Wire rope wear and corrosion exceeding 40% of the surface wire diameter, deflection around the ring, breaking a strand or breaking wire in a lay length exceeding 5% of the straight-winding wire and 10% of the inter-winding wire shall be prohibited.

7. At the beginning of the lifting operation, the first hook should be tested first. When the heavy object is lifted 200mm away, do a brake test to confirm that the large and small trucks are running normally and the lifting mechanism is working properly and the brakes are reliable before it can be put into production.

8. During load operation, the distance between heavy objects and obstacles on the running line shall be at least 0.5 meters. When no load, the hook shall be 2.5 meters above the ground. When approaching the winch stopper, large and small vehicles approaching the terminal or encountering adjacent traffic, the speed should be slow. It is not allowed to use reversing instead of braking, stop switches instead of stop switches, and emergency switches instead of ordinary switches.

9. You should walk and go up and down on the specified safe walkways, special platforms or escalators. The two sides of the cart track are not allowed to walk except for maintenance. Walking on the trolley track is strictly prohibited. It is not allowed to cross from one crane to another.

10. Operation after drinking is prohibited. Open-air gantry cranes should stop working when there is a storm, lightning strike, or strong winds above level 6, cut off the power supply, plug the front and back of the wheels to securely fix the hooks and wheels.
